Professional Home Energy Audits

FAISON ENERGY SOLUTIONS is a trade Ally for Energy Trust of Oregon and a top tier contractor for Clean Energy Works Oregon. There have been big improvements to make energy savings a top priority. Part of that is specialized training to coordinate all systems within the home for the maximum benefit and savings to you.

New housing standards are emerging nationwide. It is important to look at your whole house as a system. For maximum comfort and safety all aspects need to work together. You may have a high-efficiency furnace but if your ductwork is leaking you are not maximizing its use. If insulation has been installed incorrectly there are still big holes in what we call the envelope of your home. There are thermal boundaries that need correction. Ventilation plays a big part in your family’s health and safety and helps in maintaining the structure. It’s an integrated system.

FAISON ENERGY SOLUTIONS CAN:

  • Complete a home energy audit
  • Help assist you with a home maintenance plan
  • Make your home energy-efficient
  • Save money in utility bills
  • Add value to your home
  • Create safe home environment
  • Increase home comfort
  • Begin a home maintenance plan

You will find in the next few years these issues will come to the forefront making a significant difference in the value of your home. Soon, if not already, this will be a big factor for homes on the market, something a homebuyer will be considering in their search.

Right now there are tremendous incentives and rebates to make this easy on your pocketbook. There is financing available for a large portion of the cost to boot. It’s a WIN-WIN situation.

FAISON ENERGY SOLUTIONS has invested in the training and education to perform the weatherization requirements. To apply for the incentives and rebates for any retrofitting the work must be done by a contractor that understands these practices. We will help you take full advantage of these incentives.

A home energy audit is the first step to assess how much energy your home consumes and to evaluate what measures you can take to make your home more energy efficient. An audit will show you problems that may, when corrected, save you significant amounts of money over time. During the audit, you can pinpoint where your house is losing energy. Audits also determine the efficiency of your home’s heating and cooling systems. An audit may also show you ways to conserve hot water and electricity. You can perform a simple energy audit yourself, or have us carry out a more thorough audit.

FAISON ENERGY SOLUTIONS uses a variety of techniques and equipment to determine the energy efficiency of a structure. Thorough audits often use equipment such as blower doors, which measure the extent of leaks in the building envelope, and infrared cameras, which reveal hard-to-detect areas of air infiltration and missing insulation.

Professional energy audits generally go into great detail. FAISON ENERGY SOLUTIONS will do a room-by-room examination of the residence, as well as a thorough examination of past utility bills.

Preparing for an Energy Audit

Before we visit your home, make a list of any existing problems such as condensation and uncomfortable or drafty rooms. Have copies or a summary of the home’s yearly energy bills. (Your utility can get these for you.) We use this information to establish what to look for during the audit. We first examine the outside of the home to determine the size of the house and its features (i.e., wall area, number and size of windows). We then will analyze the residents’ behavior:

  • Is anyone home during working hours?
  • What is the average thermostat setting for summer and winter?
  • How many people live here?
  • Is every room in use?

Your answers may help uncover some simple ways to reduce your household’s energy consumption.
